Тема «Why do we study English»

Учитель Филатова А.С.

Тип урока: Урок – беседа. Заключительный урок по данной теме.

Цель: Развивать навыки коммуникативной компетенции учащихся.

Задачи.

1) Познавательный аспект - сообщение страноведческих знаний о распространении английского языка в мире, причинах его популярности, выяснение наиболее важных мотивов его изучения.

2) Развивающий аспект - развитие способностей к сравнению фактов, формулированию выводов из услышанного, развитие коммуникативных способностей, развитие познавательного интереса, развитие способностей к логическому мышлению, развитие догадки, развитие межпредметных связей.

3) Воспитательный аспект - воспитание уважительного отношения к другой культуре, языку, формирование потребности понимать истинные причины популярности английского языка.

4) Учебный аспект - формирование лингвострановедческих знаний, формирование коммуникативной культуры учащихся, развитие речевых умений, развитие навыков аудирования.

Оснащение урока: компьютер, подключенный к интернету, проектор, магнитофон, рабочие листы с заданиями для индивидуальной работы, презентация.

Ход урока.

1. Оргмомент.

Слайд 1. Приветствие: Hello, Boys and girls! Hello dear guests! I am very glad to see you. I see that all are present today. I am fine and you? Let’s start our lesson.

Сообщение темы урока: Today we are going to speak about English language, about the role of English language in our life.

So the topic of our lesson is “Why do we study English language”. At our lesson we shall try to answer this question.

Слайд 2. English is spoken as a native language in 5 countries. What are they?

The English language came to British Isles from northern Europe in the fifth century. From the fifteenth century, the British began to sail all over the world and became explorers, colonists and imperialists. They took the English language to North America, Canada and the Caribbean, to South Africa, to Australia and New Zealand, to South Asia (especially India), to the British colonies in Africa, to South East Asia and the South Pacific. English is spoken as a native language by around 377 million and as a second language by around 375 million speakers in the world. Around 750 million people are believed to speak English as a foreign language. English has an official or a special status in 75 countries with a total population of over 2 billion.

Слайд 4. A lot of people in the world speak English. 75% of all international business letters are written in English. Nearly 50% of the companies communicate with each other in English. 80% of all information in the world’s computers is in English. English is the language of rock and pop music. Most of world known singers sing their songs in English. To know English is necessary for every good specialist. What is English nowdays?

Слайд 6. Can we study English with the help of Internet? Yes, we can. There are o lot of sites which can help us . These are some of them. I hope you will use them to improve, to master your English. A little bit later I”ll show you how to do it.

Слайд 7. We have mentioned many different ways to study English. What is the best one?

4. Развитие навыков аудирования. Прослушивание учащимися аудиозаписи текстов и контроль понимания прослушанного.

5. Развитие навыков диалогической речи.

Your friend went to London last month. Ask him/her:

  • how he/she travelled;

  • how long he/she spent there;

  • who he/she travelled with;

  • what sights he/she saw;

  • what sights he/she liked most of all;

  • thank for a talk and say good bye.
